University of Tampere is a full-scale university with six faculties. The Department of Computer Sciences belongs to the faculty of Information Sciences. Tampere Unit for Computer-Human Interaction (TAUCHI) operates within the Department of Computer Sciences. TAUCHI consists of more than 40 persons. The unit is organized into six research groups one of which is theMultimodal Interaction Group (MMIG) lead by Prof. Raisamo.Work in MMIG focuses on combining the benefits of new interaction technologies. This involves basic research within individual modalities and on their combinations and applied work inconstructing multimodal user interfaces, for example, for visually disabled people.
